If you don't feel confident in your toaster running EVE, just wait a few seconds after going through, and then start worrying about combat.
not rly the case u know 1 ppl can uncloak u the secand u come threw with enough floating junk around the gate and 2 there atleast was a bug dont know if they fixed but put u threw the gate and dident give u the cloak |

If EvE doesn't want my money due to the fact that like others I have motion sickness then more power too them....
I am not asking for it to be removed just give us the OPTION of turning it off...... I also find it really surprising that not a single internal Dev gets motion sick...... If you are truely cancelling your account because of a graphical addition that you don't care for, lol. If it makes you sick, you may need to see a doctor and get a prescription, because it should cause no more motion sickness than being a passenger in a car is. There isn't even any physical force there. How do you play the rest of eve, do you have a bucket next to you every time you enter warp or accidentally move your mouse too fast when spinning your ship? HTFU.
you realy know nothing so i would sujest not posting at all it shows your ignorance |

CCP Sisyphus wrote:Here we go again.
We ARE looking at this. We are in the process of tweaking camera and FOV changes occurring in jump tunnel, the pre and post tunnel camera work as well.
no eta yet, as this is a slow process - especially with summer upon us and various people going on holidays.
it would be easyer to program an off switch instead of fukin with camera =\but anything is better then current i suppose |

CCP Sisyphus wrote:Hey guys, First off, thanks for all the comments that have been coming in regarding the new jump transition that we introduced with Odyssey. We've been keeping a keen eye on both the positive and negative feedback, and are currently looking at ways to resolve some of the issues that people are experiencing with the transition. While we can appreciate the concerns that some people have regarding server performance, these can be cleared up very easily. The animation for the transition has absolutely zero effect on the server, or the time it takes for you to travel from system to system. In fact, the time it takes for the client to unload/load data about systems has been reduced drastically (~50%). The only reason that this transition wasn't added in the past was due to technical limitations, and we decided to do it now due to the fact that part of the vision for EVE is to have a fully immersive experience that isn't interrupted by black screens with loading bars. The process when jumping is as follows:
- Player gives the command to jump while in range of a stargate.
- Client sends notification to the server.
- Server starts moving you, and relays this back to client.
- Client starts animation.
- Client unloads information about previous system.
- Server finishes moving you to new system.
- Your ship appears cloaked in new system
- Server informs client of arrival in new system, and what is on grid.
- Client loads information about new system into overview/local and begins transition end.
- You are ready to move.
The transition effectively serves as a visual filler while all of this is going on behind the scenes, and is generated client side with no impact on the performance of the server at all. The time taken only depends on the server starting and ending the move between systems, which doesn't care about the client at all. Simply adding the ability to "turn it off" is a cop-out, and leaves us in the position where we have a sub-optimal animation in game that some people are unhappy with and choose not to use. The jump transition, much like the warp tunnel, is here to stay as a replacement for loading bars, and therefore it has to be good for everyone, and has to function as intended. We will stress though, that we hear your concerns and we're in the process of exploring various avenues for resolving them that include work on the camera and work on the animation itself to smooth it out and alter how it flashes and scrolls, however this is something that will take time and won't happen overnight. Again, thanks for all the feedback, both positive and negative. It's being taken on board, and we're looking to make changes based on the things that you guys are concerned with the most, without removing the transition completely.
its not a cop out lol its called free will give the player the choice im sure meny people will keep the animation where the ppl that dont want it will simpley turn it off! |

Ace Uoweme wrote:Mr Pang wrote:It's easy, leave the anmiation but make the screen fade into black, and then fade back into the game.
no vomiting capsuleers, and you still have your precious animation.. done Pretty much this if an "off" button isn't allowed. No one is fussing over the gate animation itself. It's the movement when entering it that is the problem. Remove the start of the entering the gate (and that isn't difficult that's just removing the frames of that part of the animation), and all's well. It's the jump movement that is sickening, not the animation.
ppl r talkin bout the animation aswell it is a lame animation that is sooooooo boreing after 5 jumps as alot of ppl have stated its just ccp being bullheaded that say adding off switch is a cop out which is bull its called giveing customers what they want 3 accounts unsubed 3 on plex and runin out of time! =\ |

Sister Sophia wrote:CCP Sisyphus wrote:We are in the process of tweaking camera and FOV changes occurring in jump tunnel, the pre and post tunnel camera work as well. There's no problem guys. Let's not lose perspective. The devs are working on improving the animation. It's summer. Life is beautiful and I'm going to spend the day outside on my balcony reading a book with a beer in my hand. Maybe I'll go check out the local park while I'm at it. Nothing to stress about. EVE will be fixed shortly. Also, if we're dicks about this, I'm guessing it will take twice as long to fix and the result won't be half as good. The best thing we can do is to say 'thanks for recognizing the problem' and chill. Peace.
1 outside sucks 2 the animation sucks 3 ccp should give there customers what they demand not what they want cozz they think shiney useless animation makes there game more sparkley the only thing they did right with this latest expansion is there changeing the apocolypse battleship look that is the only thing they got right here |

Aya Shinomiya wrote:Ace Uoweme wrote:Good luck 2 of the CSMs said they like it.
Did you expect anything different? I do not know. So far as I understand it is the CSM responsible for delivering the voice of the player to CCP, no matter what their personal preferences are. Personally, I think most of the players, devs and so on love the new animation. But this means not that the few players which have problems should not name them. The critics are always outnumbered. Which means not that they are not right. Eventually, it is not about thinks we can live with. It is about a direct influence on the health of people. And this is not a new problem with games and movies which focus more and more on effects. This massive effects beating up on our senses you will not find in nature. So our bodies have difficulties with it. And I expect more of these things in the future of EVE Online because it is some kind of "Hollywood-Trend" currently, if you watch the newer movies. So I wanted to bring this issue to attention before CCP includes more of this stuff into the game only because they think it looks "cool". It is up to CCP whether they want to ignore us because we are only a few or whether they take action.
u do relise the CSM have no real power ccp just gave the csm to the ppl to make ppl think they have a say =\ |

Kaarous Aldurald wrote:Ace Uoweme wrote:Par'Gellen wrote:I'm not seeing any problems here and I'm not sure why the jump animation should look like healers in WoW (I didn't follow that at all). All I'm saying is I love the new animation and would much rather have it than a progress bar :D
Others do recognize the problem. Just like others may have medical conditions that you don't have. My healer in WoW literally glows. He heals with light, and every thing he does literally brightens the area. It's very pretty to see, like a star at night. Kind of like the light seen on the Amarr gates but magnified 10x more. All done to where it doesn't make a person sick casting it or viewing it. That's what I meant. And there's plenty of that and more online as examples of pretty eye candy without the side effects. For yet another time, light dilation has NOTHING to do with motion sickness or camera sway, you ignorant excuse for a gamer! Light strobe effects are MUCH more easily adjusted than something like this. Hilariously easy in comparison. But no, all of the ignorant gits out there think you can snap your fingers, type ten lines of code, and poof, their problem disappears. But it doesn't work like that in the real world. They as much as told you they can't just turn it off. Deal with it, wait for them to fix it, or quit. Those are the only options.
its only cozz there idiots that thought it was a good idea to hardwire the animation in to there base code they just need to redoo there base code and take it out and put it somewere easyer to add an off switch alot of work but should be done |

im sure if they did lock this thread we would simpley start another one so locking thread is a pointless excersise :) |
